2114 Clinton Avenue, The Bronx, is where I grew up. I lived there from the time I was 4 until I left home at 21 to go to graduate school at Rutgers. I have only two pictures which give some idea of what the street looked like. First is a water-color I did when I was about 15 of the building immediately across the street.
The second is a photo of myself at 15 holding the glove I used when playing stick-ball in the street:
As these two pictures suggest, the street had tenements on one side and on the other, side-by-side with the tenements, smaller multi-storey buildings. I am standing right next to 2114, which has by the way been torn down with the rest of the neighborhood. The photo looks north towards 181st street.
